About Xiuh Janiki Veeus
“Kia ora sisters, I was named Andria Dafne by both my beautiful parents. Tho, couple of years ago I received the name of Xiuh Janiki Veeus by the elders of the tradition both in New Zealand and Mexico. Today, I present myself with the essence of Xiuh Janiki Veeus to share the medicine that this name carries( Rain of blue fire ray of love ). I have been invited by beautiful Cendrine to share this magical love with you. We are a reflection of each other and we need each other to embrace our essence and remember who we are, to share the gift that we hold by simply being who we are. My journey is as long as yours. In brief, I was born in Mexico and migrated to Aotearoa in 2005 to do a Bachelor of Photographic Design at Massey University. My passion has always been indigenous people, ritual, ceremony, dance, nature, love and freedom. Inspired by the tangata whenua of Aotearoa, I was embrace to go back home in search of my whakapapa. Today I dance between and with my two home cultures and people, learning, sharing, listening, traveling, weaving together to live our dreams and create just like our Mother Nature does. My service to the community involves a variety of activities: from cooking amazing base plant food at BOQUITA in Te Aro, Wellington, to running XIWICO Temazcal ceremonies(mexica sweat lodge) and KINAM Toltec practice around the planet wherever the call is, to occasional dancing my freestyle body language with Afrobeat Sam Manzanza Band, Matiu Te Huki, Jinetero MC, and any other artist that is open to collaborate through body art and performance. I also run a entrepreneur business call Xiwico, which aim is to be a bridge between cultures and people, through food, service and art. I am a moon dancer with Abuelita Tonalmitl over in Mexico in which I learn and practice to walk my talk by being a women and being with women. I am very meticulous so I love doing bead artwork, clothing embroidery… as you may reflect I am like an octopus with a variety of talents and love to share. So, I thank you to welcome me in your heart journey to inspire each other and grow together as we share with the people around us. Let’s keep weaving! I am looking forward to meet your eyes, share breath and create together as we heal our hearts, heart of the earth!”
With love, Xiuh Janiki Veeus
